RE: metal detectors

I have a Fisher CZ-7, its a great machine. I have had a whites and garret too but perfer my CZ-7. Its very stable. CZ-5 and CZ-6 are good machines too. You wont find one of these for $400 unless its used and it would be worth it. I paid $900 for mine about 11 or 12 years ago.

RE: Bardwell Lake Texas or Waxahache

Im at Mott. Overall to me the nicest sites are 1-14 at Wax ck pk. Usually quiet there, no bathrooms close by means no tenters. For campers/RV's that like boating Highview or Mott is the ticket, with Mott being my first choice. People/jetski/watersports watching are good as these parks have good view. Most boating is done south of the bridge as north of the bridge gets shallow in some areas depending on lake level.

RE: Bardwell Lake Texas or Waxahache

Another Lake about 45 min south of Lake Bardwell, Navarro Mills, is a beautiful place. Its to far out for herewer but if you never been there its worth a look. I drove through one of the campgrounds (Oak Park) and its very clean. They have sewer hookups on some of the sites and i hear the crappie fishing is unreal. In fact i think it holds the state record for biggest crappie.

RE: Bardwell Lake Texas or Waxahache

I drove by that Rv park on I45 in Ennis, Its a dump. many permanet old trailers there. I also checked out the one in Waxahachie its clean but small and i think it was last year that the creek overflowed and flooded the RV park. I know theres another RV park in Ennis somewhere but i havent found it yet, I suspect its gonna be like the one on I45. Here some pics of HighView. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v39/agefhx/hvc1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v39/agefhx/hvc2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v39/agefhx/hvc3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v39/agefhx/hvc4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v39/agefhx/hvc5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v39/agefhx/hvc6.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v39/agefhx/hvc7.jpg

RE: Bardwell Lake Texas or Waxahache

I havent taken pics of highview camp sites yet, were adding more parking to some of the sites and when thats done i get some pics. There all mostly back in sites there with good spacing. There are quit a few 50 amp sites there. I would avoid sites in the 40's as they are small. Not Many trees in this park. Wax ck park has some nice pull throughs, sites 1-14 and most sites 15-30 are big rig friendly except for a couple of them. Many trees in WAX ck pk. Mott Park has many pull throughs and back ins. 1 50 amp site (27). Waterborne means (i think) flush toilots. There many pit restrooms and are not very popular. If you need to be around a good bathroom you need to find a site in Highview or Mott close to the bathroom. Not sure about the 4 day reservation deal but you might want to book early as we could fill up at the time frame you want. I have heard that some of the fair personnel have stayed here before to. They do save some sites for walk ins. What are you camping in and what pad space do you need? If you need a pic of a site let me know which one and i'll get it for you. This Lake is the best place for what you want, The other choices are Hi-HO in glenn Hieghts and another park on 287 near the Motorplex (just a big parking lot) I have stayed at both and prefer Lake Bardwell. I think i have a few pics of Highview will post them soon. Oh and the fishing aint to bad either.

RE: OK, NOW I FOUND A PROBLEM! NO DUMP

You could take the pan off and manually dump. They have to take it off anyway. I dropped my pan and left it off, i disconnected my cable on the black tank valve. I dont think it was closing all the way and now i can make sure.

RE: Ever been a prisoner in a campground??

I park host at a COE park and we lock our gates at 10pm also. We have a combination lock for fire and police to get in. There is a exit anyone can leave at anytime, its one of those spike strip exits. Aint no comming in if you value your tires. We had a drunk one night that wanted out and smashed his car through the gate and made it out, guess he didnt know about the late night exit just 30 feet to his right.

RE: Please recommend "rustic" type campground in Lake Havasu.

I like Havasu Landing on the California side. It has boat ramps was kind of rustic 5 yrs ago and has a ferry boat to take you across the lake for shopping. Great offroading in the desert too. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2358/2370455209_fbf13474a3.jpg?v=0 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2302/2370455071_5963230fa2.jpg?v=0 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2102/2371290554_c6c89dbe78.jpg?v=0 Havasu City across the Lake. Is beautiful when lit up at night

RE: Unerbelly Linning

After having to remove the plastic underbelly twice to fix leaks. I finally just left it off, looked like poop anyway. Had no problems so far without it.

RE: How did you get started in RVing/ Camping?

My dad died and left me a 2000 ford F250 and a 34 ft prowler 5th wheel. The prowler looked huge to me, im thinking, what am i going to do with this thing? Took it to Galveston state park 40 miles away for a few weeks and never looked back or lived in a house again. That was 5 or 6 years ago, i upgraded in 2004 for the rig i have now. I feel i have so much more freedom and options full timing and i actually feel sorry for people stuck in a stick and brick house.

RE: Considering Fulltiming

Its cheap living, we get full hookups and free wi-fi volunteering for the army corps. We put in 20 hours a week for it. There are some corps parks that all you have to do is keep an eye on the park your living in, usually a closed park.

RE: Galveston State Park, Tx.

I like to camp on the bay side, across the road from the beach. Good fishing there, and there's more space between the sites.
